Questions
Good to know.
What is Sikook exactly?
Sikook, Moroccan cuisine platform, is the marketplace of Moroccan cooks around the world. Home cooks, chefs and pastry makers sell their homemade Moroccan food directly, and you order from a cook in your own city, delivered or picked up. Cooperatives, producers and shops also offer Moroccan terroir products. Sikook publishes the pages and connects buyers with cooks; each cook sets their own prices, days and delivery. A city opens to orders once enough cooks are active there.
Who delivers my order?
Each cook organises the delivery of their dishes in their city, using whatever means they judge best to keep the dishes at their finest: by hand, through a relative, a courier or a delivery service. So the person who hands you the dish is not always the one who cooked it, but the cook commits to it arriving in the best conditions (temperature, packaging, timing). Delivery fees are added to your order depending on the area. You can also choose to pick up from the cook.
How long does delivery take?
Each chef lists their slots and lead times on their profile. Within Morocco, most deliver same-day or next-day inside their city. Inter-city times depend on the chef's chosen carrier.
How do you vet producers?
Three steps: (1) on-site visit by a Sikook scout, (2) tasting box sent to an independent reviewer, (3) verification of certifications (ECOCERT, AOC, ONSSA, Fair Trade depending on the product). Sixty producers selected from a hundred and fifty visited.
What payment methods do you accept?
Credit card (Visa, Mastercard, CMI, AMEX), Apple Pay, Google Pay, or cash on delivery paid to the chef. Currency: MAD everywhere in Morocco, international launch in 2027.
Who is responsible for dish quality?
The chef or producer is solely responsible for the quality, hygiene and compliance of what they sell (health permit, ONSSA, self-employed registration). Sikook publishes the storefront, takes payment and connects buyers with cooks, but we don't produce anything, so we can't warrant taste on their behalf. Every chef signs the Sikook Charter before opening: see /conditions-chefs.
What if my order is late, incomplete or not as described?
You can open a dispute from your account within 24 h of delivery. We contact the chef and arbitrate case by case: partial refund, full refund, or credit. Payment to the chef is held while the dispute is open.
I'm a chef or producer, how do I join Sikook?
Apply via the « Sell on Sikook » form. We call you back within 72 working hours. Home cooks, pastry makers and food creators: no commission until 10 January 2027, then 18% excl. VAT per order, no subscription. Onboarding included: photos, multilingual sheets, guided setup. You handle deliveries, fees and compliance (health permit, ONSSA, self-employed status).
What does the 18% commission cover?
For home cooks, pastry makers and food creators, the Sikook commission is 18% excl. VAT per order, delivery fees excluded, i.e. 21.6% incl. VAT for a cook not registered for VAT. It is waived until 10 January 2027. It covers card payment fees and your customers' loyalty points: those points are paid by Sikook, never by you. No subscription, no sign-up fee.
I make or sell Moroccan products: can I open a shop on Sikook?
Yes, right now. Cooperatives, producers, terroir brands, shops and fine food stores (amlou, spices, argan and oils, terroir products) open their page with a subscription of 350 DH excl. VAT per month, paid yearly (4,200 DH excl. VAT), with no commission on sales. Restaurants and caterers will join Sikook from September 2027.
How do Sikook Points work?
You pay by card and confirm receipt of each delivery (if we hear nothing from you, it is confirmed automatically after 72 hours). Your confirmed purchases add up, all cooks combined. Once the total reaches 800 DH, you earn 1% of each card-paid order in points, 2% during Ramadan: the order that crosses the threshold counts for its whole amount, earlier ones earn nothing after the fact. Points are credited when you confirm delivery, valid for 12 months, and 1 point is worth 1 dirham (or 1 unit of your order's currency). You can use them on a later order once card payment opens. Points are a gift from Sikook: the cook is paid in full. The whole programme at sikook.com/points.
When does the public launch happen?
Private beta in Q3 2026, public launch in Q4 2026 on sikook.com. Waitlist open now, early signups served first.
