بالصحة, Sikook cook kit

Everything you need to get started.

This guide walks you through it step by step. It fits on eleven pages, it is written for you and it uses no complicated words. Save it on your phone or print it: it is made to live next to you in the kitchen.

01

A great dish photo, in three simple rules

A beautiful photo doubles your sales. It is not magic, it is three principles.

  1. Natural light in the morning or late afternoon. Place your dish near a window, never under a halogen ceiling lamp. White neon light looks industrial. Sunlight looks homemade.
  2. A top view or a three-quarter view. A straight-on shot distorts and flattens. A top view (photo taken holding the phone above the dish) is cleaner. A three-quarter view (45 degrees) brings out the depth.
  3. A plain tablecloth or a ceramic dish. Zellige background, wooden board, embroidered fabric, clay tajine. Avoid patterned oilcloth. Avoid a perfect white background that looks like a catalogue.

Bonus tip. Before taking the photo, wipe the rim of the dish with a clean cloth. Sauce marks on the rim ruin even the most careful photo.

Share your images. If you have great videos or photos of your dishes, share them with us from your dashboard: we will feature them on Sikook and our social networks, with your name.

Setting a fair price, a simple calculation

Many cooks sell at a loss because they calculate by guesswork. Here is the Sikook method, on one page.

Selling price = ingredient cost × 3, plus the value of your time.

  • Ingredient cost: add up everything you buy for one portion. A chicken tajine for two is about 45 DH of ingredients (chicken, olives, preserved lemon, spices, oil).
  • Multiply by three: 45 × 3 = 135 DH.
  • Add your time: two hours of cooking at 40 DH an hour is 80 DH.
  • Total: 135 + 80 = 215 DH for two people. Round up to 219 DH.

Then the Sikook commission. 18% excl. VAT of 219 DH, that is 39.42 DH excl. VAT or 47.30 DH incl. VAT (21.6% incl. VAT for a cook who is not VAT registered), and nothing at all until 10 January 2027. The commission covers card payment fees and your customers' loyalty points, paid by Sikook. What you receive, net, in your Moroccan account: 171.70 DH per tajine sold. Your delivery fees, if you set them at 30 DH, you keep in full on top.

Tip. Never go below ingredient cost × 2.5. Below that, your work is no longer paid. Sikook will never push you to lower your prices, quite the opposite.

03

In our sights: Ramadan 2027

Get your Ramadan offer ready in February.

Ramadan 2027 is expected to start around 8 February 2027. Ftour boxes, harira, chebakia, briouats, msemen, pastries: put your dishes online in February. Sikook is launching a large communication campaign around Ramadan to bring you customers.

04

Delivery, what you need to know

Sikook launches in 2026 without its own logistics network. You handle delivery, but you are not alone.

  • Your delivery fees are added to the order. The buyer sees them before paying. You set them by area. For example: 20 DH in your neighbourhood, 35 DH elsewhere in the city, 60 DH for another city.
  • You choose how. Do you deliver yourself by scooter? Do you use a Glovo courier for local delivery? Do you use CTM or Amana between cities? Sikook leaves the choice to you.
  • Insulated packaging is a must for hot food. A 50 DH insulated bag from Jumia lasts a year and saves your reputation. A lukewarm tajine is a bad tajine.
  • Label everything. Dish name, your name, preparation date, allergens, reheating advice. A printed label looks professional. You can generate one for free in your Sikook space.

You arrange the delivery of your dishes in your city, by the means you judge best to keep their quality: yourself, a relative, a courier or a delivery service. You do not have to deliver in person, but you commit to the condition in which the dish reaches the buyer. You set your fees and your area.

05

Moroccan rules, what you need to have

No hidden traps. Here is the exact list.

  • Auto-entrepreneur status. Simple, free, done once. Go to ae.gov.ma, registration section. Declared activity: industrial preparation and sale of food products. You receive your certificate within five days.
  • Health booklet from your municipality. Book an appointment at your municipality's hygiene office (the arrondissement in Casablanca, the municipal office elsewhere). An inspector visits to check your kitchen and storage. Three hundred to five hundred dirhams depending on the city.
  • ONSSA authorisation for packaged products sold sealed (amlou in jars, harissa in jars, dry pastries in boxes). Not required for prepared dishes served hot for immediate consumption. Form on onssa.gov.ma.
  • Tax declaration. As an auto-entrepreneur, you pay one percent of your turnover, declared every month on ae.gov.ma. It really is one percent, that is not a mistake.

Sikook does not replace these steps, but the team can help you remotely with each of them. Send an email to salam@sikook.com if you are stuck.

06

Looking after your reputation

Sikook publishes your reviews publicly. That is the rule of the game. Three habits make the difference.

  • Pack with care. A clean box, kraft paper, a small handwritten label thanking the buyer. What costs a few dirhams shows the moment the box is opened.
  • Reply within twenty-four hours. A buyer's message left unanswered for three days means a bad review, guaranteed. Even “Received, I'm preparing it for Saturday” is better than silence.
  • Warn in advance if there is a problem. You are ill and cannot deliver? Let them know straight away, refund if needed, offer an alternative. That is what separates a pro from an amateur.
07

Referrals, your growth advantage

Sikook rewards you when you refer another cook. For every cook who signs up, you earn one extra month without commission. Up to six months in total.

Your referral code is visible in your Sikook space. Share the link with your friends who cook. Three sign-ups? Three months earned. Six sign-ups? Six more months without commission, on top of the commission waived until 10 January 2027.

That is how Sikook grows, one cook at a time, with you. This is not multi-level marketing, just a simple discount when you help us find real talent.

08

If there is a problem with a buyer

Sikook settles disputes. Here is how it works.

  • An unhappy buyer opens a dispute from their account, within 24 hours of delivery.
  • Sikook contacts the buyer and you at the same time. Each side gives its version.
  • Sikook decides: partial refund, full refund, credit, or rejection of the claim.
  • Payment to the cook is held during the review. Once it is settled, the payment follows.

The rule: always be honest with Sikook, even when you know you are wrong. A cook who admits a mistake and refunds of their own accord keeps their rating and their page. A cook who lies loses both.
